Health Examination for International Students

All international students entering Malaysian higher educational institutions must complete an EMGS health examination. The following guidelines are from the official EMGS Health Examination Report.

Key requirements

  • ·Undergo health examination within seven (7) working days upon arrival in Malaysia.
  • ·Failure to comply will result in rejection of your student pass application.
  • ·Health examination must be conducted at approved EMGS Panel Clinics or the Health Centre of Public Universities.
  • ·If you fail the health examination, student pass endorsement will not be processed and you are required to leave Malaysia.
  • ·You may submit an appeal within three (3) working days after receiving your health examination result. Applications after this period will not be entertained.
  • ·The Government of Malaysia reserves the right to reject any application based on health results or false information.
  • ·Complete the form in English using CAPITAL letters.

Required vaccinations

  • ·Yellow Fever — certificate required if travelling from or transiting more than 12 hours through countries with Yellow Fever risk.
  • ·BCG
  • ·Meningitis (Quadrivalent)
  • ·Hepatitis B
  • ·Polio
  • ·Measles
  • ·Rubella
  • ·Bring your International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis for verification.

Examination includes

  • ·Personal and family illness declaration
  • ·Physical examination (vision, hearing, BMI, blood pressure, general & systemic exam)
  • ·Mental health assessment
  • ·Blood tests (Hepatitis B, HIV, Hepatitis C, VDRL/TPHA, and others)
  • ·Urine tests (including drugs screening)
  • ·Chest X-ray
  • ·Doctor certification as SUITABLE or UNSUITABLE for studies in Malaysia
